Our very own Juan Davis, a Varsity Football Player at Everman High School has verbally committed to play for the UT Longhorns. Davis, a 6’4 junior will play quarterback for the Bulldogs this season. He is coming off a great sophomore season as a quarterback & wide out. EHS is proud of the hard work that Juan has put in to get to this point.

Texas head coach Tom Herman and assistant Derek Warehime made 2021 Everman (Fort Worth) TE Juan Davis a priority from the early stages of his recruitment. He even told Inside Texas that Texas was the school on him most following his experience at Texas Heat Wave.

Today, Davis decided that Texas was the place for him. The Everman TE chose the Longhorns over Baylor, TCU, and joins Lake Travis’ Lake McRee as the second tight end in the 2021 class.

Ian Boyd on Davis: Davis is a big, flex tight end prospect already checking in at 6-foot-4, 217 pounds as a sophomore. Davis has excellent ball skills and at times even ignores the smaller CBs assigned to cover him and simply goes through them to win jump balls. Some of his more intriguing clips though feature him willingly going over the middle, finding seams, and fighting through tacklers after the catch. He’ll eventually be a plus athlete for his size, which figures to be 6-foot-5, 245 or so when he’s in college, and his skill and agility will pay off. He may not ever be a blocker but stay outside as a full-time flex tight end, in which case he figures to project to the slot or X for Texas.

Davis is the 5th member of Texas’ 2021 class joining Hayden Conner (Katy Taylor), Jalen Milroe (Katy Tompkins), Lake McRee (Lake Travis), and Quaydarius Davis (Dallas Skyline).
